A brief powerful expose: "Shame and Grandiosity: One Man's Journey Through The Velvet Rage" by Drew VanDyche was originally a presentation speech/sermon while the author was a graduate student at the Pacific School of Religion Berkley, CA. The author referenced Alan Down's popular notable book "The Velvet Rage: Overcoming the Pain of Growing Up Gay in a Straight Man's World" (2005) during the talk and for this short e-book.
Written for a better understanding of Gay or Bisexual men, this is particularly helpful in achieving additional insight to the baffling mystery of the highly secretive closeted man. The all consuming avoidance of shame, combined with the need for validation becomes "the single powerful driving force in his life" VanDyche further explains the rage triggered over the slightest thing and how they are connected causing a complex "see-saw" of emotions between "rage" and "gentility". This is a highly informative recommended read for anyone who questions behaviors or needs further explanations quickly.
