In his history of the West Africa Mennonite ministries Forrester explains in outline the local theologies and he uses his well-balanced missiology to critique them. His clips of real-life examples are helpful in understanding his holistic approach to missions. His own personal experiences will be helpful to other cross-culture workers who can compare their own experiences with his. Forrester tries to deal honestly with local theologies and invites readers to do something similar in their situations as they lift up Christ wherever they are.
I think the book could be made required reading for courses in Mennonite colleges and seminaries that pertain to sharing the gospel across cultures. It should also find its way into other Anabaptist missions around the world.

Animists to Anabaptists is a well written book bringing light to real life struggles and beliefs of the people of West Africa. This book is an easy read and is filled with stories that continue to draw you in. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking into missions, especially in missions in Africa.
