I'm reading it again!

This story is like a 12-course meal!
What a juicy, raw, decadent, intriguing and enlightening read! I wasn't prepared for what this book dished out and once I tasted it, I didn't want to put it down.

Every, single page offered up a delicious morsel that beckoned to be savored. While this story revealed a very exposed account of a chapter in the authors life, quite honestly ... metaphorically, it could have been my own.

Life will always and forever dish up experiences designed to awaken the soul.
This read ... this author ... her experiences ... her "Alters" ... her "Guides", could easily and metaphorically be applied to my own life.

I immersed myself in this book and invited or rather opened myself to receive what each alter and guide wished to impart. Perhaps we all have these characters within that beckon and so desperately desire full expression and how many of us have silenced them, squashed them or denied them the freedom to allow us to be truly authentic individuals?

This book gives you permission ... a safe place, to explore and invite all that's been hiding within, to emerge, to speak and to express.

It's time to cease from living in the confines of the rules we set for ourselves, to protect ourselves, to deny ourselves, the fullness of the pleasures, joys and ecstasies that life so desperately wants to give.

I felt like I was on an emotional journey with the author ...

As soon as I started reading this book I was hooked and couldn't put it down. I felt like I was on an emotional journey with the author and her family; sharing the smiles, the tears and the love. Here is a beautiful example of people loving without conditions. I believe there are many of us who are looking for our own bridge and this author provides the inspiration for us to take the steps to get there.

Understanding Scripture

This is one of the best Bible commentaries I have seen and use. The details are quite helpful, how to pronounce Biblical words, asking of questions to help one's view of Scripture is marvelous. I use it weekly as I prepare for Sunday school teaching. I recommend it for anyone with a thirst for Biblical understanding including self study.

Unique book

Unique book I did not know existed. Accounts on the life of the character portrayed in the book is only available, to my knowledge, through Yogananda's Autobiography and is very limited. Anything, and all, along these lines is and will be most welcomed. Thank you.

Sketchy, Superficial Hagiography

This little book may be of interest to devotees of Paramahansa Yogananda who are curious about the life of Lahiri Mahaysaya (1828-1895), one of the principle gurus in the Self Realization Fellowship lineage. But I think that most others will find it a sketchy, superficial read consisting of many stories that are more likely fiction than fact. And this particularly holds true with regard to the stories about the legendary, “immortal,” and "eternally youthful" Babaji.

According to the author, Lahiri Mahasaya was “greatest yogi in the 19th century." The author writes: “Indeed the role silently played by Shri Lahiri Mahasaya in changing the world-consciousness into a unity through the practice of yoga cannot be exaggerated.”

In this book, the author certainly exaggerates Mahasaya’s role. Further, he also exaggerates the efficacy and importance of Kriya Yoga, which is a rudimentary technique involving controlling the prana and focusing attention on the point between the eyebrows. The author writes: “The greatest contribution of Shri Shri Lahiri Mahasaya to the world is that he, according to the instructions of his Great Guru Shri Babaji Maharaj simplified the infinite multiplicity of the processes of Raja Yoga into a few stages.”

I’m intimately familiar with Raja Yoga, having taught it, and I don’t second the author's POV regarding Kriya Yoga relative to Raja Yoga. For me, Kriya Yoga is just another overrated Yoga technique, which hardly epitomizes Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras or other canonical Yoga texts.

For .99 it’s hard to go wrong, so for me this book was more a waste of time than money.

I purchased from life way. This book is amazing. During times of uncertainty she gives clear answers to the many thoughts that go through our heads. Clear boundaries and how to carry them out. Good information on the healing process and about our triggers with clear answers and direction on how to deal with it. She asks good questions to get you thinking. Highly recommend.

But during the Halloween season, Pennhurst Haunt offers several attractions for the curious or thrill seekers. Ghost Hunt is located in the Mayflower Hall. For several years, I have spent time in this dark, eerie building and have witnessed the paranormal first hand. Even the most die-hard nonbeliever would have to admit there is something strange going on at the former Pennhurst State School and Hospital. Pennhurst Ghosts of Mayflower II relates the author's  experiences as a guide in the Mayflower building. During her time in the Pennhurst complex, Ms. Lawrence not only sees and feels strange phenomena herself, but also deals with guests, who experience encounters. 

Pennhurst Ghosts of Mayflower II is a great introduction to exploring haunted buildings for anyone interested in visiting the actual Pennhurst site.

Always a quick read

I couldn't help but stay up all night reading this. I got this the second after I finished the first book.
A very good sequel to the first book. If you loved the first, in all its suspenseful and unsettling yet enlightening glory- you will like the sequel. Wish there was a book for each haunting season-- can't wait to see any of Tamera's future works.

A good issue over all

Overall, the stories in July 2015's issue were well polished and written. I found a few very minor mistakes - places where just a little editing would have made it stronger overall.

I liked the stories - they were clear, easy to follow, and entertaining. That seems to be the major selling point of eFiction - it's entertaining, with stories that read quickly.
