About the Author
After having experienced a nightmare that changed their lives forever, Phil and Karen Lazo have shared their deeply personal, heartbreaking, yet uplifting tales with audiences in the United States and abroad. Thousands of people have been inspired by what God did in the Lazos' lives, and have come to trust God more fully. Phil earned his B.A. Degree in Communication at Shippensburg University (PA). In addition to his career in sports broadcasting, Phil has served as a lay worship leader and team musician since 1995. Karen earned her B.A. in Education at Westminster College (PA) and her M.Ed. Degree in counseling at the College of William and Mary (VA). She is currently a self-employed homemaker who has served as a counselor and a youth leader in her community. Phil and Karen have been happily married since 1991 and have two sons at home and a daughter in heaven.

Inspiring and God-honoring tribute!

An amazing testimony to God by a couple who experienced one of the hardest trials anyone could possibly imagine, the loss of their 8 year old daughter. I was especially moved by all the anecdotal accounts of how God bolstered and encouraged them through the storm.
This book has been a vivid reminder to me of how loving and faithful our God is and how He so often uses great trials to do great things through those who trust and serve Him. Thank you Phil and Karen for sharing your hearts, your faith and your story! - Jeff Cook

and love, was truly inspirational

This is an incredible story of tragedy, yet how God will help us get through anything we face. I could not begin to fathom if one of my kids were killed, and how I could deal with this. However, seeing Phil and Karens' trust in God, their unwavering faith, and love, was truly inspirational. Bad things happen to most of us (to varying degrees), but this book helps give hope, to trust in God, and He will help us with any situation; no matter how insurmountable it may seen. Thank you Karen and Phil for your inspiration!

Sure, we have heard the theme before. No matter what the circumstance, trust God, just trust and something great will happen. It sounds so simple, but how many of us could really do it? Phil & Karen were faced with circumstances that every parent would find unfathomable. However, God had prepared them, so they could inspire us. It isn’t the longest book, you may read it in one sitting, but you will be glad you did.
