A major reason why people don’t thrive is because we’re focusing on the wrong things―on keeping up rather than waking up to what matters most. In The Thriver’s Edge, master executive coach and transformational leadership expert Dr. Donna Stoneham uses her powerful THRIVER model to help readers uncover the beliefs and fears holding them back from more fully expressing their gifts. Page by page, Dr. Stoneham explores the many ways to develop and integrate the seven keys—trust, humility, resilience, inner direction, vision, expansiveness, and responsibility—that lead to thriving, illustrating her points with personal stories and inspirational examples of various people who have flourished in the midst of adversity. At the end of each chapter, powerful reflection questions and practices encourage readers to put these seven keys into practice. Practical, applicable, and transformative, The Thriver’s Edge is a “coach in a book” that teaches readers to unleash their potential, fulfill their dreams and offer their best to the world.

Join the Thriver Movement
A movement is a group of people committed to reaching hearts and minds and inspiring change to build a better world. Right now, 3 out of 4 people on the planet aren't thriving (including 1 in 2 adults in the US). Thriving doesn't happen in a vacuum. We need each other. When we learn how to live on the thriver's edge, we help others to thrive by paying it forward and encouraging them to do the same.
My dream is that through working together, by 2020, we can reach 2 million people and create a ripple effect of thriving in the world that will help raise those statistics, one person at a time. It's a simple equation. One person learns to thrive and supports another to do the same. Then that person pays it forward and inspires the next person, until each of us becomes a stone that casts a ripple of ever-widening circles of thriving in our families, our communities, and in the teams and organizations we serve.

This book consistently shows us how to do that in ways that support us to thrive, not just survive, which is something the world needs more than ever."

Read Jack Canfield's testimonial on the front cover...it says it all!!!
By Kathryn Thorson Gruhn
The seven keys that Donna suggests and explains is so intuitive. I feel like I am at the coffee shop or sitting on the sofa with a cup of coffee and Donna is personally providing me with much needed insight. We get distracted in what society deems as thriving. We judge and compare ourselves to others which is not the key to thriving and this book brings out how we can develop inner direction. It will not only remind you what choices you are making; it has valuable exercises at the end of each chapter that are tried and true. The seven keys: trust, humility, resilience, inner direction, vision, expansiveness and responsibility piqued my curiosity as to how these virtues would help me to thrive. I now know and you will have to read the book yourself to find out. I sent this book to my daughter. She is finishing up her PhD at Washington University. She loved it and it brought her back to reality from the academic bubble. Read it. You won't regret it!

Deep, compassionate and practical. Beautiful.
By C Martin
Soulful and wise. Excellence-focused. Practical. These are words we might not find in a complete combination with most books. Oftentimes we find deeply soulful books that are more about stirring our hearts but don't offer a clear path to development and growth. Or we can find practical self-help books that are all about quick tips and tricks but don't have a lot of "heart" to them.
"Thriver's Edge" strikes a beautiful and rare balance among books that inspire our growth. It's is a fine book written by a coach, and Stoneham's unusual depth and practical come through strongly here. There are great stories coupled with powerful questions that I felt very drawn to answer and savor in the manner that the author suggests - slowly over time.
This book also draws comparison to some other wonderful developmental works. That includes: the human potential classic, "Mastery", by George Leonard; "Broken Open", by Elizabeth Lesser; and the lesser-known, "St. Benedict on the Freeway", by Corinne Ware.
The latter book is quite spiritual, and I reference that intentionally. Stoneham draws from the Jonah fable from the Bible, and it really works to outline the psychological challenges we all face in adult development - whether you are a practicing Christian or Jew or not. Her experience as a spiritual director is clearly evidenced in the deft way she draws from spiritual traditions both East and West.
If you want quick fixes this is not the book for you.
Thriver's Edge is highly recommended for those of you who want some sage advice from a master guide as you walk your journey toward mature growth.

Practical and powerful
By Laura Elliott
Donna Stoneham's inspiring book The Thriver's Edge will take you on a transformational journey. It is full of moving personal stories and stories of others that demonstrate what it means to live a purposeful and meaningful life. Donna Stoneham defines thriving as "our capacity to unleash our power to grow, flourish and experience a sense of trust and well-being in ourselves, our work and our lives so that we may offer our greatest talents and capabilities to the world while helping others do the same." I found each chapter helpful in offering powerful tools and practices to do just this. It's a book to be read again and again.
